Praveen K. Vohora, CA*, Partner
Praveen was born in Tanzania, Africa and obtained his C.A. designation in England. His varied background in audits of large private companies and public bodies and keen interest in microcomputer consulting enables the firm to provide the full range of services within the accounting field. Praveen has served as a member of the “Practice Review & Licensing Committee” with the BC Institute of Chartered Accountants and is currently a Council Member. Praveen has served on the Board of Directors for Prince Rupert Port Authority and Ridley Terminals Inc. Praveen has been actively involved in the Prince Rupert Rotary, having been treasurer for fourteen years and serving as president in 2005/2006. Praveen also has a keen interest in assisting people with immigration to Canada and has been a member of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants since 2005.
Steven J. Buchanan, BBA , CA*, Partner
Steve joined our firm as a Partner in 2008. He serves his existing clients and provides support for the South Surrey office. Steve qualified as a CA in 1991. He has written and passed the US reciprocity exam (a precursor to obtaining designation in the United States) and he is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Planning program with the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners. Steve has also provided facilitation services for the CA School of Business since 2002.
Jeremy Pierce , B. Comm, CA*, Partner
Jeremy was born and raised in Prince Rupert BC. After high school Jeremy attended UNBC and worked as a summer student with the firm during his second and third years. After completing his Bachelor of Commerce in 2007, Jeremy joined the firm full time as a CA articling student. In 2008 Jeremy wrote and successfully passed the UFE, attaining honours on the exam. In June 2009 he completed his work experience and received his CA designation. Jeremy became a partner in 2010 and manages the Vancouver office. In addition, Jeremy also chairs the firm’s assurance group. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys fishing and golfing.
Sukhraj S. Uppal, B. Comm, CA, Principal
Sukhraj (Raj) was born and raised in Prince Rupert BC and joined Vohora & Company in 2002, working summers with the firm while earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UNBC in 2004. In 2008 Raj wrote and successfully passed the UFE. Raj has been involved in performing review and audit engagements for new and existing clientele, with a particular interest in small businesses and Not-For-Profit organizations. Raj splits his time helping manage both the South Surrey and Prince Rupert offices. Along with his interests in extracurricular activities which include soccer and golf, Raj served a as treasurer for a Not-For-Profit society and continues to be actively involved in charities within Prince Rupert.
Nikola Tusek, B. Comm, CA, Principal
Nikola (Nik) was born and raised in Prince Rupert BC. He attended UNBC, obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2007. Thereafter, he joined Vohora & Company as a CA articling student in our Surrey office. In 2009 Nik wrote and successfully passed the UFE and completed his work experience in May 2010 to obtain his CA designation. Nik helps manage the Vancouver office and assists in the firm’s assurance group. Some of Nik’s interests include teaching, which he will put into practice when he assists as a facilitator with the CA School of Business later in the year. In his spare time, Nik enjoys playing and coaching soccer as well as traveling.
